The Order of Military Merit

The Order of Military Merit was created on July  first 1972 it is the centre piece of our national system, which includes orders, decorations, medals and heraldic devices. The Order is a society of merit that recognize conspicuous merit and exceptional service by the men and women of the Canadian Forces, both Regular and Reserve. The Queen of Canada is the Sovereign of the Order. The Governor General is the Chancellor as well being a Commander of the Order. Canada’s Chief of Staff is the Principal Commander of the Order.

 

The replicas are mounted in a distinctive frame measuring 12" x 16" (30 cm x 40 cm) and is designed to highlight both sides of the decoration.  As a personal touch your name is featured in an inscription which states that the decoration is a replica of the one presented to you by the Governor General of Canada.
